About Chad Houser
Chad Houser, executive director and chef of Café Momentum, will share the benefits of expressing gratitude in our lives. Gratitude is at the core of Café Momentum's intern program, teaching critical skills that allow juvenile offenders to apply the culinary skills they've learned in post-release internships in a safe, real-world environment. The curriculum includes rotating at-risk youth through every aspect of the restaurant from waiting tables to washing dishes while working side-by-side with established chefs.
After 17 years as a chef, Chad sold his partnership in Parigi Restaurant to devote his full attention the role of executive director of Café Momentum in 2012. Chad has received multiple nominations from D Magazine for "Best Up-And-Coming Chef" (2010) and "Best Chef" (2011 and 2012). In 2011, he received the Edible Dallas/Fort Worth "Local Hero - Chef" award. Most recently, Chad was named to the "Top 50 Under 40" by the Social Enterprise Alliance, an "Urban Innovator to Watch" by the New Cities Foundation, as one of "30 Most Interesting People in the Metro Area" by the Dallas Observer, and one of Good Magazine's "Good 100," individuals at the cutting edge of creative impact across the globe.

About the Luncheon
"With united hearts..." Creating an inclusive prayer tradition for "all faiths in America" dates back to 1775 when the Continental Congress as one of their first acts together chose the unifying element of prayer. In an effort to more formally highlight this rich history, The Thanks-Giving Foundation was instrumental in collaborating with President Ronald Reagan and Ambassador Anne Armstrong to set aside a permanent National Day of Prayer on the first Thursday in May, beginning in 1981. By annual Presidential proclamation this tradition continues today. Our commemorative prayer celebration, which began in Dallas, has been adopted by many other cities and organizations around the country.

About Thanks-Giving Foundation
The Thanks-Giving Foundation, also known as Thanks-Giving Square, was formed in 1964 by four Dallas business leaders to promote thanksgiving as a unifying factor in our community. What started as a simple park turned into a center of value and thought that has had an impact not only in this community but in the country and world. Our mission is to promote the spirit and unifying value of giving thanks in our community, nation, and the world. The Foundation provides information and resources so that citizens from diverse backgrounds can use thanksgiving as a way to heal divisions and enhance mutual understanding.
