2013 Deadlines for Meaningful Use
have financial impact

Two major deadlines for Meaningful Use occur in 2013 with significant repercussions for providers who do not meet them:

#1 -Providers eligible for the Medicare EHR Incentive Program who do not meet Stage 1 Meaningful Use in 2013 will lose out on approximately $15,000 in incentive payments and will be subject to Medicare payment reductions starting in 2015. Remember, Oct. 3, 2013, is the last day to begin the 90-day meaningful use reporting period in 2013, so it's important you act now.

#2 -Providers who are eligible for the Medicaid EHR Incentive Program and will bill more than $20,000 to Medicare Part Bwill be affected by payment adjustments in 2015 if they do not meet Stage 1 Meaningful Use in 2013. Read the complete story.
