The first day of school for students is Tuesday, September 6, and is a full day. We hope you're enjoying a safe and relaxing summer and we look forward to the students' return after Labor Day!

Reminder: LMS & LHS summer assignments


Lawrence Middle School (LMS): Summer Math Packets for students in grades 7 and 8 can be found on the  LMS website here. All math courses have required summer work.
  • Math 7
  • Math 7 Accelerated
  • Math 8
  • Algebra I (8th grade)
Your child can receive assistance with the Summer Math Packet by calling the LMS Main Office to schedule an appointment.
 
Lawrence High School (LHS): There are summer assignments for the courses listed below. The assignments can be found on the LHS website here.
  • Required Summer Math Assignments for Geometry Honors, Algebra II Honors, Pre-Calculus Honors, Calculus Honors, AP Calculus AB and AP Calculus BC
  • Optional Summer Math Assignments: LHS students in Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II
  • Required Summer Science Assignments: Chemistry Honors, AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP Environmental Science
  • Required Summer Art Assignments: AP Studio Art
  • Required Summer English Assignments: all Honors and AP English
  • Required Summer World Language Assignments: all Honors and AP World Language
  • Required Summer Social Studies Assignments: all Honors and AP Social Studies courses
LHS students who have received prior approval for Option II Summer Course Work must remember to call the Guidance office to schedule your required assessment and to submit your transcripts. You can find details and dates on your Option II documents.

Community Programs
LHT Full Moon Bike Ride - meet Dr. Edwards!
Registration is now open for the 2016 LHT Full Moon Bike Ride, sponsored by the Lawrence Hopewell Trail (LHT) and the Mercer County Park Commission. The annual bicycle event takes place on Sunday, August 21, at 9:30 p.m. in Mercer Meadows and is open to adults and youngsters ages 12 and up. Participants are encouraged to pre-register online at www.lhtrail.org.
 
Come early and meet LTPS Superintendent Dr. Crystal Edwards for an informal "Just Ask Us" information session about our schools beginning at 8:00 p.m. See flyer.

GEPNA Annual Movie Night - Minions
The Greater Eldridge Park Neighborhood Association (GEPNA) will present Minions on August 27 at 7:00 p.m. See flyer.

Lawrence Hamnett Soccer Fall Recreation Program
Time is running out to register for Lawrence Hamnett Soccer Association's Fall Recreation Program, which is open to players of all skill levels ages 3-14 years old. Lawrence Lacrosse Fall Clinics
Registration is open for Fall Clinics for new and experienced players in Pre-K - 8th grade. Register at www.lawrencelacrosse.com before September 10 for a $10 discount. See flyer.

Free Narcan Training
Learn how to use Narcan to reverse a heroin/opioid overdose at one of three Mercer County locations. Lawrence Township will hold a workshop on September 27 at 6PM. See flyer for additional dates and times.
