LHS Jazz Band kicked off a spirited celebration
Lawrence High School (LHS) culminated its Black History Month observation with a celebratory event of culture, class, courage, and change on Friday, February 26. The night featured multiple performances reflecting song, instrumental music and dance. Upon entering LHS, guests were greeted by a seemingly never-ending sea of student and faculty volunteers, all of whom were adorned in dressy black attire. Guests were treated to light refreshments and music as they browsed a picture gallery of famous African-Americans, including our very own Dr. Crystal Edwards and LHS art teacher, Khalilah Sabree. The program recognized local and statewide honorees. The Lawrence Township Education Association and a Lawrence Township Education Foundation grant sponsored the event.
