LeCompte finishes 4th at NJSIAA Boys Diving Championship
Lawrence High School (LHS) sophomore Adam LeCompte finished 4th in the state with a score of 399.65 at the NJSIAA Boys Diving Championship on February 24 at Montgomery High School. Joining Adam in the competition and placing 11th with 286 points was sophomore Luke Annand in his first state appearance.
 
Adam trains on the Junior Olympic squad of Blue Dolphin Diving while Luke practices with East Coast Masters Diving at TCNJ.

Eighth grader receives national service awards
Raina Pahade, 8th grader at Lawrence Middle School (LMS), has received national honors for her exemplary volunteer service with a Certificate of Excellence from The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards, and with a President's Volunteer Service Award, granted by the program on behalf of President Barack Obama.
 
The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards honor young people across America for outstanding volunteer service. Certificates of Excellence are granted to the top 10 percent of all Prudential Spirit of Community Award applicants in each state and the District of Columbia.
 
President's Volunteer Service Awards recognize Americans of all ages who have volunteered significant amounts of their time to serve their communities and their country.

Over 400 people attended the Lawrence Science & Engineering Fair on February 20 to view the entries of 150+ LTPS students in grades 4-8 who participated in the judged competition.

NJ Regional Science Bowl
The U.S. Department of Energy's NJ Regional Science Bowl was held on Friday, February 19, and Saturday, February 20, at Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory. On Friday, 16 middle school teams went head-to-head to prove their math and science knowledge, while on Saturday, 32 high school teams took to the buzzer. Questions ranged in topic from biology and chemistry, to math, physics, and technology.

Out of the 16 middle school teams competing on Friday, the Lawrence Middle School (LMS) team of Pranav Phadke, Ben Wiggins, Nabil Hachicha, Ian Wang, and Nick Zhou took 4th Place! This was the first time LMS had a team at the competition. Science teacher, Tracy Bozarth is the team coach.

Lottery applications for the 2016 - 2017 Pre-school Programs for 3- and 4-year-olds at Ben Franklin, Lawrenceville, and Slackwood Elementary Schools, tuition only students, are being accepted now through March 25.  See news release for eligibility and application requirements.

The Lawrenceville Elementary School (LES) PTO will hold its semi-annual Kids' Used Toys and Clothing Sale on Saturday, March 19 from 8AM to 12 Noon at LES. See news release.

CJPRIDE Job Fair
The Central Jersey Program for the Recruitment of Diverse Educators (CJPRIDE) will hold its 14th Annual Open Recruitment Job Fair on March 17 from 4-7PM at John Witherspoon Middle School in Princeton. Certified candidates or candidates in the process of completing a college teacher education program will be eligible to interview with school representatives. See flyer.
