Andrew Yuen and Kaitlyn Malyszka
LMS instrumentalists accepted into Central Jersey ensembles
Congratulations to Lawrence Middle School (LMS) students Andrew Yuen (gr. 7) and Kaitlyn Malyszka (gr. 8) for being accepted into Central Jersey Music Educators Association (CJMEA) Intermediate ensembles!
 
Andrew will perform on the cello in the chamber orchestra, the highest orchestra for which one may be selected. He is a member of the LMS orchestra under the direction of Mrs. Melissa Clark. Kaitlyn will play the bass clarinet in the Concert Band. She is a member of the LMS Concert Band under the direction of Mr. Ron Taglairino. 

In preparation for March concerts, both students will attend rehearsals with fellow middle school students from around the region, who also auditioned and were accepted into these select ensembles. Andrew will perform in concert on Saturday, March 5 at 3PM at Neptune High School PAC, 55 Neptune Blvd, Neptune City. Kaitlyn will perform on Sunday, March 6 at 3PM at Steinert High School, 2900 Klockner Rd, Hamilton. Tickets for each performance will be sold only at the door - $10 for General Admission, $5 for students & seniors (credit cards not accepted).
Black History Month Celebration at LHS
Celebrate Black History Month with music, dance, art and food on February 26 from 6-9PM in the Lawrence High School (LHS) library. Dr. Maurice Hobson, Assistant Professor of African-American Studies at Georgia State University is the keynote speaker at the event, sponsored by the Lawrence Township Education Foundation (LTEF) and the Lawrence Township Education Association (LTEA). CAP Project workshop offered for parents of LTPS grades K & 2 students - February 4
This winter, kindergarteners and second graders at all four LTPS elementary schools will participate in the Child Assault Prevention (CAP) Project during the school day. The CAP project aims to prevent child assault by teaching children to recognize and deal with potentially dangerous situations and by training parents to help prevent the victimization of children. The program has two components: a parent program and individual classroom workshops for children in kindergarten and second grade.
 
The district's parent program, sponsored by LTPS elementary school counselors, is Thursday, February 4 from 6-7PM in the media center at Lawrenceville Elementary. This workshop is an adult program and children are not permitted. However, free babysitting is available in the LES art room. See flyer.
Sports registration is now online
Registration for all sports at Lawrence Middle School (LMS) and Lawrence High School (LHS) will now be done online. Anyone interested in participating in a Spring 2016 sport must complete an online registration form by February 24. Read more here.
DVRS Information Session
The Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services (DVRS) will be at to Lawrence High School (LHS) on Wednesday, February 10, at 9AM in the auditorium to conduct an information session on the services they can provide to students after they graduate.
