LES music teacher tapped to create webinar
Lawrenceville Elementary School (LES) music teacher Dan Beal was recently asked by the New Jersey Music Educators Association (NJMEA) to create an online webinar demonstrating how he uses iPads with a JamHub in his music classroom. By viewing the webinar, music teachers in New Jersey (and beyond) can see how a JamHub works and how it can provide a multitude of music making experiences for students. NJMEA will host the webinar through February 29, where NJMEA members can view it and submit summaries for professional development hours.
A JamHub is a silent rehearsal studio that allows up to seven students to make music together using electronic instruments such as iPads, and listen to their group with headphones. Since each student can hear everything clearly through headphones, it increases focus and minimizes distractions to other students in the class. Teachers can also discretely monitor students through their own headphones, as well as give feedback to the entire group or individuals using a microphone. By connecting a JamHub to speakers, it can be used for group demonstrations or live performances and concerts.
