Greetings!

The next Board of Education (BOE) meeting is Wednesday, January 6 at 6PM in the Lawrence High library. This is the annual reorganization meeting at which members elected to the BOE in the previous November election are sworn into office. Agenda items include setting 2016 BOE meeting dates. No regular business is planned for this meeting.

The next regular monthly BOE meeting is set for Wednesday, January 13 in the Lawrence High library. The public portion of the meeting begins at 7PM.

LHS Open House
Future freshmen...get to know us! You're invited to our house for Lawrence High School's (LHS) Open House on January 12 at 5:30 p.m. Learn about the multitude of challenging courses of study we offer, the scope of our athletic program, and the numerous extracurricular activities available. See flyer.

At the conclusion of the Open House at 6:30 p.m., Alyson Fischer, LTPS athletic director, will present "Understanding Athletic Recruiting in the 21st Century," an information session geared towards parents of students interested in playing a sport in college.

Girls Soccer team shows character
The Lawrence High School (LHS) Girls Soccer team won the 2015 Sportsmanship Award for the Girls Soccer CVC Patriot Division. Congratulations to coach Emily Palombo and the Lady Cards for showing why we are a National District of Character!
It's a wrap...
The Lawrence High School (LHS) Transition Services student workers made and sold over 400 holiday gift tags at their recent Holiday Mart, enabling them to donate $100 to the Cancer Research holiday gift wrapping table at the Quaker Bridge Mall. The volunteer gift wrappers were thrilled to receive the Christmas Eve donation and were very appreciative of the students' efforts.
 

The "Science in the Community - Chemistry" class was visited by John Harris, a community member and Bristol-Myers Squibb (BMS) chemist. Mr. Harris led the students in labs working with solutions and chemical reactions. In addition, Mr. Harris talked about his experiences as a chemist and the skills needed for successful employment at BMS and within the community.

Lawrence Science & Engineering Fair - registration open
Register online now for the February 20 Lawrence Science & Engineering Fair. The Science Fair is a judged competition for grades 4-8, but the day of the Fair is open to all grade levels and the general public to participate in demonstrations and see the student experiments. Visit the Science & Engineering Fair website to view the competition handbook and directions.
