Greetings!

Top Stories from LTPS
Three reasons you should read this PARCC update:
  1. PARCC Results Releases - as of November 10, 2015 the NJ Department of Education has released state-level results of the PARCC test first given in New Jersey districts last spring. Next should be a release of district scores followed by a release of individual student scores.
  2. PARCC State-Level Results - the state-level results are towards the end of this recent NJ State Board of Education report about PARCC Results: Year One.
  3. PARCC Student Results: an Overview - an individual student report of PARCC test scores will look quite different than NJASK student results received in previous years. The presentation above, created by Andrew Zuckerman, director of Instructional Services, is designed for parents, walks them through a sample PARCC student report, and aims to help interpret the new PARCC report format.

Chemistry Club shines at Chemistry Activities Night
For the fourth year, the LHS Chemistry Club was invited to the American Chemical Society Chemistry Activities Night at Princeton University on October 23. Sporting their Lawrence "red and white" gear to represent the Cardinals, students spoke to young children and their parents while maintaining 13 tables of science-related learning, focused on the theme "Chemistry of Color."

The students were entrusted with a challenging managerial-chemistry hygiene task and were trained, monitored, and assisted by Princeton professors in the Frick Chemistry Labs. Using inks and dyes, they managed to stain the precious marble of Frick "ZERO" times through tarping and careful procedures.

Children created cards and decorated and signed a banner with words of thanks for their service to our country. Applebee's gave all veterans a free lunch from a selected menu and a "thank you" note from the children of LES on Wednesday. The banner is on display at the restaurant in Lawrenceville.
