And the Shark Tank winners are...
The LHS Business & International Studies Academy's 2nd Annual Shark Tank Competition was held on May 1. Ten contestants from LIS, LMS and LHS brought their creative ideas for businesses and products to the stage with hopes of taking home the grand prize. Contestants were judged by successful professionals from Edison Partners, Northwestern Mutual, Santander Bank, Mrs. G's, and Entourage Yearbooks.

Enthusiastic professionals motivate students at LMS Career Day

Lawrence Middle School (LMS) hosted its annual Career Day on May 28, when 26 speakers shared their experiences and excited 8th graders about their futures.

Motivational keynote speaker David Nash, Cooperative Education and Structured Learning Experience Coordinator for Mercer County Technical Schools (MCTS), spoke about the importance of the three A's:  "Attendance, Appearance, and Attitude" and encouraged students to begin working as soon as possible. Students then attended small group sessions with various speakers (including some LMS alumni) whose occupations include: pilot, personal trainer, actor, firefighter, police officer, designer, events manager, chiropractor, professional basketball player, career planning specialist, business administrator, technology specialist, social service specialist, special education teacher, investigator, business owner, Director of the American Physical Therapy Association, reporter, athletic director, financial advisor, infectious disease doctor, and dog trainer...whew!

Students and staff of LMS thank the speakers, pictured above, for providing a memorable, positive, and motivating day.
