Schools' leadership teams set for change
Changes are on the horizon this summer for the leadership of Lawrence Intermediate School (LIS) and Lawrence High School (LHS).
Jon Dauber, current LHS principal, has accepted a new professional opportunity and will leave LTPS at the end of June. Jon has served in LTPS for ten years. He was a Lawrence High assistant principal for one year, led LIS for five years, and returned to LHS as principal for the past four years. We wish him the very best in his new role and thank him for his years of leadership and dedication to our students and staff.
Dave Adam, current LIS principal and no stranger to Lawrence High, will return to LHS and take the helm as principal on July 1. Dave has served as an LTPS administrator for eight years: three as LHS assistant principal, one as LIS assistant principal, and the past four as LIS principal.
The Board of Education (BOE) approved the Superintendent's recommendation of these changes at last night's BOE meeting.
So, what's next? Today we posted internally the opening for the LIS principal position. Plans call for conducting interviews late next week and having a recommendation for BOE appointment at the May 13, 2015 meeting.
We will keep you posted as we move forward. Paramount considerations are providing smooth transitions as well as again establishing quality leadership teams which will continue providing outstanding learning opportunities for your children.
