David Connelly named Governor's Scholar

Lawrence High School (LHS) junior David Connelly has been selected by a panel of professors, researchers, and educators at Rutgers University to participate in the Governor's School of Engineering & Technology at the Rutgers University School of Engineering this summer. Qualified high school juniors who possess outstanding skills and display unusual abilities and interests in the field are nominated by their schools for acceptance into the program. 

 

As a Governor's Scholar, David will spend four weeks on campus taking five academic classes, completing an intensive research and/or design project in a group of 3-5 students, going on site visits to local corporations, and meeting equally talented peers and professionals from across the state. Read more about this elite program here.

LTPS-TV This Weekend

 

Saturday & Sunday, April 11-12, LTPS-TV will broadcast two new programs on Comcast Channel 19 and Verizon Channel 37 in Lawrence Township:

 

SW Fairness Pillar of Character recorded 3/25/15 (approximately 15 minutes)

6AM, 9AM, 12PM, 6PM & 9PM

Slackwood School honors students who have demonstrated the Fairness Pillar of Character.

 

LHS Student Jeopardy recorded 3/26/15 (approximately 1 hour 48 minutes)

7AM, 10AM, 4PM, 7PM & 10PM

After years of watching LHS teachers compete in a program modeled after the TV show, Lawrence High School students get their turn in the limelight as contestants.

Community Programs
Lawrence Township Open House

Lawrence Township will hold an Open House for the community on Saturday, April 11 from 10AM to 2PM. Stop in to meet the Lawrence Township Council as well as employees from various departments to learn how your government operates, which departments handle various matters, and the types of programs available. Primetime Athletics Summer Basketball Camp
Primetime Athletics, in partnership with the Lawrence Township Recreation Department, will host two week-long summer basketball camps for boys and girls entering grades 3-9. Local high school players and coaches will provide fun and engaging basketball instruction to campers daily at Lawrence Middle School (LMS) at two sessions - July 6-10 and July 13-17. LNC Mother Nature Festival

Enjoy the sights, sounds, and smells of spring at the Lawrence Nature Center's (LNC) annual Mother Nature Festival on Saturday, May 9. Experience guided nature hikes, a wildlife show by the Philly Zoo, live music by Eli the Hawk and various demonstrations. See flyer.
