2014-15 School Calendar Revised to Reflect Snow Days
School will now be in session on June 5 and June 12, two of the built-in emergency closing dates, to make up for snow days used on January 27 and February 17. 

LTPS Pre-School Lottery Open Now

Lawrence Township Public Schools (LTPS) is currently accepting applications for the 2015-2016 Pre-school Programs for 3- and 4-year-olds. The programs are located at Ben Franklin and Lawrenceville Elementary Schools.  These are comprehensive programs that service typically developing, low income, and special needs 3- and 4-year-old children. Applications for the lottery are due no later than March 9, 2015.

He's "All About That Bass" - Masterson Accepted into CJMEA Regional Orchestra

Teddy Masterson, Lawrence Middle School (LMS) 8th grader, was accepted into the Central Jersey Music Educators Association (CJMEA) regional orchestra on the double bass. For the second year in a row, he placed 1st chair in the chamber orchestra, which is the highest orchestra comprised of students from central New Jersey in grades 6 through 8. Teddy is a member of the LMS Orchestra under the direction of Mrs. Melissa Clark.

Essay Contest Winner Shares Birthday Cake with George Washington

The Old Barracks Museum in Trenton invited all New Jersey 4th and 5th graders to celebrate George Washington's 283rd birthday through an essay contest. Out of more than 200 entrants from across the state, five students in Laure Annese's 4th grade class at Lawrence Intermediate School (LIS) were selected as winners, including 1st Place winner Samantha Gunton! As the State grand prize winner, Samantha was invited to eat a slice of birthday cake with "George Washington" and take a free tour of the Old Barracks Museum. Finalist Rebecca Maccaroni and semi-finalists Ailish Humphreys, Chloe' Davis and Megan Simpson, all received free passes to the museum as well.

LIS is Tops...again...in New Jersey in Jump Rope/Hoops for Heart Event

Once again, Lawrence Intermediate School (LIS) is the top fundraising school in New Jersey for the 2014 American Heart Association's Jump Rope and Hoops for Hearts events! Students in grades 4-6 participated in the events last year, raising a combined total of over $20,000 in donations for research and education. This is the 5th time LIS has received this distinction. 

 

LIS Health and Physical Education specialists P.J. Barrett, Jonathan Chichilitti, Dave Boggs, and Tori Hart (pictured L-R) attended the 2015 Annual New Jersey Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance (NJAHPERD) Convention on February 23, where NJAHPERD president, JoAnn Doherty (center) presented the award.

Lawrence Science & Engineering Fair - This Saturday!

Come have some fun at the Lawrence Science & Engineering Fair on Saturday, February 28 from 1:00-4:00 p.m. in the Lawrence High School (LHS) Commons. This FREE event is open to the whole community---there will be science games to play and demonstration tables to see. The posterboard session is open for public viewing from 3:15 - 4:00.

Shark Tank Application Deadline March 6

The deadline to apply as a contestant for the 2015 Shark Tank Competition is Friday, March 6. Prizes worth over $1000 are waiting to be awarded to the winners, as well as an opportunity to be featured in a promotional event at the Quaker Bridge Mall. The top winner will also receive professional assistance from Edison Ventures, a top investment firm, in helping their idea become a reality! LES PTO Kids' Used Toys and Clothing Sale

The Lawrenceville Elementary School (LES) PTO will hold its semi-annual Kids' Used Toys and Clothing Sale on March 7 from 8AM-12PM indoors at LES. See news release for more information.

LHS Varsity Wrestling recorded 1/17/15 (approximately 1 hour)

6:30AM, 11:30AM & 7PM

Lawrence takes on JFK Memorial at home.

 

LHS Boys Varsity Basketball recorded 1/23/15 (approximately 1 hour 13 minutes)

7:30AM, 12:30PM & 8PM

Lawrence takes on Steinert at home.

 

LHS Boys Varsity Basketball recorded 1/30/15 (approximately 1 hour 26 minutes)

LTEF Handbag Bingo - Few Tickets Left!
There are just a few tickets left to the 5th annual Handbag Bingo fundraiser on Friday, February 27 from 6:30-10:30 p.m. at ETS Conant Hall. All bingo prizes are designer handbags!
