DECA Student Fundraisers Support The Seeing Eye

As part of their "Seeing Differently" community service project this past fall, Lawrence High School (LHS) DECA students hosted school- and community-wide fundraising events to aid The Seeing Eye organization in its endeavor to improve the lives of blind or visually impaired individuals nationwide. Located in Morristown, NJ, The Seeing Eye is the oldest existing guide dog school in the world. In addition to breeding, raising and training guide dogs, the school provides training for blind or visually impaired individuals to help them get acquainted with their new service companions.

DECA students reached their goal of raising $600 for The Seeing Eye by hosting Volleyball Night, participating in the LHS Haunted House event, and hosting a fundraiser at Chipotle Mexican Grill, with 50% of the night's profits donated directly to the cause. LHS teacher Diane Schneck is the club advisor.
