December 23rd is an Early Dismissal Day for students and staff.
Schools are Closed for Winter Recess December 24-31.
Schools are Closed on January 1 and 2.  Classes resume January 5, 2015.

This will most likely be the last QuickNews of 2014.  Best wishes to all for safe, warm, and relaxing winter holidays as well as a Happy New Year!

LMS Students Adopt a Platoon

Patricia Ludwig's Lawrence Middle School (LMS) Block 1 Cardinal Time group adopted a platoon for the holidays. Students made cards and filled stockings for the military personnel, as holidays can be a particularly difficult time for deployed service members. Ms. Ludwig shipped the stocking,s extending support and holiday cheer, on December 15.

Students in Lawrence High's Transition Class brought their ever-popular Holiday Mart to the administration building.  The special items hand made by the students sell quickly.

Register now for three free seminars for parents funded by a grant from the Lawrence Township Education Foundation (LTEF):

  • February 24 - Tools for Parents
  • March 23 - Smart Parenting for Smart Kids

LTPS-TV This Weekend

Saturday & Sunday, December 20-21, LTPS-TV will broadcast four new programs on Comcast Channel 19 and Verizon Channel 37 in Lawrence Township:

 

LHS Varsity Swimming recorded 12/4/14 (approximately 1 hour 27 minutes)

7AM, 11AM, 5PM & 11PM

The Boys and Girls take on Hamilton West at home.

 

LTPS BOARD, Not Bored! recorded 12/10/14 (approximately 8 minutes)

6:47AM, 10:47AM, 4:47PM & 7:17PM

At the December Board of Education meeting some diminutive stand-ins introduced Tri-M Musicians who were there to perform.

 

LHS Winter Holiday Concert recorded 12/11/14 (approximately 47 minutes)

6AM, 10AM, 4PM & 6:30PM

Vocalists and Instrumentalists from Lawrence High School perform a Holiday Concert.

 

LHS Tri-M Coffee House recorded 12/14/14 (approximately 1 hour 24 minutes)

8:30AM, 12:30PM, (2:30PM Verizon only), & 8:30PM

Musicians perform in an open mic style program.

Boys & Girls Club Seeks Volunteers for Community Center Advisory Group

In preparation for the opening of the new Community Center in September, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Mercer County is actively recruiting community volunteers for its Community Center Advisory Group. The Advisory Group meetings are held every other month.  The next meeting will be January 26 at 6:30 pm at 1040 Spruce Street, Lawrence, NJ. See flyer.
