Slackwood Students Create and Run Arcade Games
At the November 12th Board of Education (BOE) meeting, Slackwood students gave BOE members a real treat as they got to play in the Cardboard Challenge set up in the Lawrence High library. Inspired by the short film "Caine's Arcade," the Global Cardboard Challenge is an annual event presented by the Imagination Foundation that celebrates child creativity and the role communities can play in fostering it.

LTPS Named to 5th Annual AP District Honor Roll
 Lawrence Township Public Schools (LTPS) is one of 547 school districts in the U.S. and Canada honored by the College Board with placement on the 5th Annual AP District Honor Roll. Districts are placed on the Honor Roll for increasing access to AP course work while simultaneously maintaining or increasing the percentage of students earning scores of 3 or higher on AP exams. |
LHS Academy Students Play and Get Glimpse of Real World Experience at Sesame Workshop
 Students from Lawrence High's Arts & Humanities and Business & International Studies Academies as well as from the TV Studio class visited Sesame Workshop on a recent field trip to NYC. Part of the outing included viewing a display entitled 'Somebody Come and Play" at the NY Public Library for the Performing Arts celebrating Sesame Street's 45 years. Get a glimpse at this link. This artist is one of the panelists who addressed the students as they learned about the production of Sesame's programs, its international presence, and the art and creation behind the characters.
