BF PTO Donates $1000 to Mercer Street Friends

The Ben Franklin (BF) PTO donated $1,000 (the equivalent of 1,127 pounds of food!) to the Mercer Street Friends Food Bank via the Students Change Hunger program. Students raised funds by participating in a Fun Run held on October 18 at the Ben Franklin PTO Fall Fest. Students sought out sponsors and donation pledges for the event, knowing that a portion of the proceeds would be donated to the Mercer Street Friends Food Bank. This is the second consecutive year that the school has participated in the Students Change Hunger program. To find out more about Mercer Street Friends, visit mercerstreetfriends.org.
