LIS Students "Walk This Way"
Lawrence Intermediate School (LIS) 4th graders participated in the "Safe Kids, Walk This Way" program on October 7 & 8. Students enjoyed an assembly on pedestrian safety before participating in an afternoon of hands-on learning about safe walking. Jane Millner of St. Lawrence Rehabilitation Center, the lead organizer of Mercer County Safe Kid, Jerry Foster, and Aly Dyson of Transportation Management Associates worked with LIS to bring FedEx trucks and Boomer, the Trenton Thunder mascot, for the afternoon of learning. Students participated in surveying the walkability of the area around LIS, while learning about staying safe while walking and riding bikes.
