 Community Programs
Safety Town Graduation Safety Town, the Lawrence Township Recreation Department's program for students entering Kindergarten in the fall, held a graduation ceremony for participants on July 3. The two week program, held at Ben Franklin Elementary school, was led by township, district and local police staff, as well as teenage volunteers. Students learned how to create safe situations for themselves in everyday life with trips to police and fire departments, visits by professionals and different fun-filled experiences. Staff instructed students about safety around the home, fire safety, making 911 emergency calls and other invaluable safety lessons.
