Girls Track Wins Division Title
Lawrence High's Girls Track & Field Team captured the Patriot Division title (co-title with Hopewell) for the first time in 20 years with a win over Robbinsville on May 14. The meet was close throughout the entire contest (final 73-67) and it came down to the last event of the meet. Tim Collins is the head coach and is assisted by Jonathan Chichiletti and Marcus D'Ameli. As Coach Collins related: The girls (Kelsey Holt, Suzie Dapprich, Sophie Rauschenberger and Renee Fortier) ran neck and neck for the ENTIRE relay with Robbinsville until Renee finally secured the win in the last 100 meters with her teammates wildly cheering her on. It was an incredibly exciting meet and I am so proud to coach these girls. They are a shining example of what is good in Lawrence. These girls work so hard at practice and in school, are respectful and committed to doing things the right way.
