LTPS Named Best Community for Music Education
Lawrence Township Public Schools (LTPS) has been named one of the 2014 Best Communities for Music Education by the NAMM Foundation for outstanding commitment to and support of music education in schools. LTPS is one of 376 districts selected out of 2000 districts and schools that applied for the award. This is the 6th year the district has received this prestigious designation.
LTPS Excels at Science & Engineering Fair

Students from our Intermediate, Middle, and High Schools had a strong showing at the annual Mercer Science and Engineering Fair held in mid-March at Rider University, winning several awards in all divisions. In fact, LIS won a special award for having the most award winners in the Elementary Division!

LHS Students' Work Published in Aspirations

Seven Lawrence High School (LHS) students were selected to have their work published in Aspirations, the literary magazine of Mercer County Community College. Each year the college invites local high schools to participate in a competition from which the very best in original art and writing is chosen for publication. The college then hosts a recognition program to acknowledge the contributors when the magazine is published. The following students' pieces were submitted for consideration by English teachers Erica Ingram, Cheryl Eng, and Niyati Green:

LTPS Recruitment Job Fair

Lawrence Township Public Schools (LTPS) will host a Recruitment Job Fair on Wednesday, April 2 from 3:30-6:30 p.m. in the Lawrence High School cafeteria. See link below to view available positions and necessary qualifications.

LIMBO Car Wash - Postponed until April 26
Due to the rainy weekend forecast, the LIMBO Car Wash that was scheduled for March 29 will now take place on April 26. See flyer.

LMS Music Program Captain Paul's Fundraiser

Eat at Captain Paul's Firehouse Dogs on April 9 and a portion of your purchase will go towards funding Lawrence Middle School Music Program's trip to Hershey Park. See flyer.

LTPS-TV This Weekend

This Saturday & Sunday, March 29-30, LTPS-TV will broadcast two new programs on Comcast Channel 19 and Verizon Channel 37 in Lawrence Township:

 

LHS Teacher Jeopardy recorded 3/19/14 (approximately 1 hour 51 minutes)

7AM, 9:30AM, 12PM, 5PM & 11PM

LHS Teachers compete in this contest run by the students.

 

SW Fairness Pillar of Character recorded 3/24/14 (approximately 19 minutes)

6:30AM, 9AM, 11:30AM, 4PM & 7PM

Slackwood School honors students and local residents for demonstrating fairness in their daily lives.

Living Local Expo

The 7th Annual Living Local Expo is Saturday, March 29 from 11AM to 4PM at the National Guard Armory. See flyer for information on attractions and presentations at this free event.

Bicycle Safety Rodeo

St. Lawrence Rehabilitation Center and NJ SAFE KIDS will hold their annual Bicycle Safety Rodeo and Safe Kids Day on Saturday, May 10. Children must pre-register for the bike rodeo and will receive a free helmet and bike inspection. See flyer for registration instructions.

Diversity/Culture Day

The Lawrence Township Human Relations Committee will hold its annual Diversity/Culture Day on Sunday, May 4 in the Lawrence High School Commons. See flyer for details.
