LMS Bassist Accepted to CJMEA Chamber Orchestra

Lawrence Middle School (LMS) 7th grader Teddy Masterson has been accepted into the Central Jersey Music Educator Association (CJMEA) Chamber String Orchestra for double bass. Teddy is a member of the LMS Orchestra under the direction of Melissa Clark. Teddy received the highest score of all the basses that were accepted and will be the principal bass player for the top orchestra. This was his first time auditioning for an orchestra outside of school. He will have 5 rehearsals with the orchestra followed by a concert in March.

DECA Regional Winners                 

Nine hundred DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America) students were in attendance at Middlesex County College

for the DECA Regional Conference. The Lawrence High School DECA chapter had many

members win awards, qualifying them to compete at the DECA State Leadership Conference in Cherry Hill in March.

Fleurmont & Gibson are 2014 Mercer County Champs

Lawrence High is the home of the 2014 Boys Indoor Track Mercer

County Champions in the Long Jump and Pole Vault. Senior Josh Fleurmont won the Long Jump with a jump of 20' 5". Senior Adam Gibson won the Pole Vault with a jump of 11' 6".  Nate Jones, Middle School social studies teacher, is the Boys Track & Field Head Coach.

BF Winter Blast - Order tickets now

The Ben Franklin (BF) PTO is sponsoring its Winter Blast fundraiser on Saturday, February 22 at ETS in Princeton. Tickets ($25 each) include a pasta dinner provided by Leonardo's II, cocktails, dessert and more. Purchase deadline is February 5 and tickets are limited. See flyer to order.

LES PTO Kids' Used Toys & Clothing Sale Seller Registration

Attention Sellers - please pre-register electronically at www.lawrencevillepto.com from 8:00 p.m. Thursday, February 6 through 5:00 p.m. Monday, February 10. Click on Spring Clothing Sale (live link will be available starting February 6) to complete and submit the electronic form. Make sure that you see the confirmation window indicating form was received. If you do not see the confirmation, please contact les.clothing@yahoo.com immediately.

 

You will receive an email on or before February 14 informing you if you are accepted as a seller, along with instructions on how to tag your items and sign up for your volunteer work shift. This Saturday & Sunday, February 1-2, LTPS-TV will broadcast four new programs on Comcast Channel 19 and Verizon Channel 37 in Lawrence Township:

 

LHS Poetry Out Loud recorded 1/17/14 (approximately 1 hour 35 minutes)

5:30AM, 10:30AM & 5:30PM

Lawrence High School students recite poetry in a competition.

 

LHS Girls Varsity Basketball recorded 1/17/14 (approximately 1 hour 15 minutes)

9AM, 4PM & 11PM

The girls take on WW-P North at home.

 

LHS Winter Choral Concert recorded 1/23/14 (approximately 1 hour 8 minutes)

7:30AM, 12:30PM & 8:30PM

Lawrence High School vocal musicians perform their winter concert.

LTEF APPLE Valentines

Thank your favorite teacher with a Valentine's Day A.P.P.L.E. from the Lawrence Township Education Foundation (LTEF). See order form - deadline is February 7.

Lawrence Safety Town Program - Register Now

Registration is now open for the Lawrence Safety Town program, run by the Lawrence Township Recreation and Police departments. This year's program will be held June 24 - July 3. Students will learn about home safety, fire safety, how to make a 911 call and other valuable safety lessons in a fun-filled environment. Registration is on a first come, first served basis. Mercer County Park Summer Nature Camps

Registration for Aquatic Adventure Nature Camp, Bald Pate Mountain Nature Camp and the new Wild Discovery Preschool Nature Camp is now open. Information and camp registration forms are also available on the Park Commission website at www.mercercountyparks.org under the Environment tab. Camps fill as registrations are received.
