Video Game Science Night--discover the science behind the games!

This year's event aims to exceed previous offerings of Superhero, Willy Wonka, and Harry Potter Science Night. Grade school and middle school-aged children will be taken into the gaming realm of classic games like Mario and Pokemon to newer hits like Candy Crush and Angry Birds.   Attendees will visit ten plus rooms of different, interactive gaming experiences coordinated by LHS STEM Academy students.

  • Engage in bigger than life size Angry Birds with 3 levels & 3 science lessons
  • Learn science behind magnetic-type Pokemon
  • Learn about potential energy and simple machines through bigger than life size fruit ninja complete with "fruit slicing bagel guillotine" encased in extra thick plastic cylinder for safety
  • Play Forza (does anyone over 20 know what this is).  It's a car game via which you will learn about Newton's Laws via hands-on lessons
  • Get your groove on to Dance Dance Revolution and see effect on heart rate
  • Learn science behind Candy Crush
