Cheerleaders Win CVC Medium Division Title

The Lawrence High School (LHS) Varsity Cheerleaders won 1st Place in the Medium Division of the annual Colonial Valley Conference (CVC) Cheer Competition. Fourteen teams competed within four divisions at the event, which was held on November 16 at West Windsor Plainsboro High School North. Adrienne Landolfi coaches the LHS squad of 21 girls.

 Our Community Conversation on November 14th in the Lawrence High Commons was quite successful. Approximately 150 parents, community members, students, and staff contributed to the success as they heard an update on district happenings as well as gave input on the 2014-2015 district budget and next strategic plan.

Varsity Football Scores 1st Playoff Win
The LHS varsity football team won last Saturday's playoff game against Allentown with a score of 21-14, making it the first football playoff win in Lawrence High's history. The Cardinals now face Carteret on Saturday, November 23 at 1PM at Lawrence in the NJSIAA Central Jersey Group III semifinals. Having coached the Cardinals for 24 years, Rob Radice has been head coach for 14 years. Assistant coaches are: Dean Mason, Anthony Ammirata, Anthony Herold, Ferguson Reeves, Chaz Freeman, Dave Bossio(volunteer), Ryan Dunn (volunteer).

Lawrence Middle School (LMS) is hosting two assemblies on November 22 re: How to Prevent Cyber Bullying, Sexting, Social Media Abuse, & Other Cyber Issues. You're welcome to attend. Assemblies are at LMS at 9:30 and 10:45 a.m.

Moldoff Earns Eagle Scout Award

Lawrence High senior Andrew Moldoff earned his Eagle Scout Award, the highest award offered by the Boy Scouts. His project was the beautification of the ceremonial flagpole area at Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Newtown, PA digging new flowerbeds and planting 40 new shrubs.
During this year's Veterans Day ceremonies, Andrew returned to the site as a featured speaker reciting the WWI poem "In Flanders Fields." At the end of the ceremony he presented the Guardians with a bound pictorial version of his Eagle Project, thanking them for their past and continued service.

The parent is hopeful Ms. Doroba will be recognized for her caring ways and her outstanding teaching abilities. LIS Thanksgiving Food Drive
The Lawrence Intermediate School (LIS) Student Council recently organized their annual HomeFront Thanksgiving Food Drive to support local families. All LIS classes participated and collected enough food to fill 13 large laundry baskets for HomeFront.

LES Blood Drive - Today
Donate the "gift of life" by stopping at the Blood Mobile in the LES parking lot today, November 21 from 2:30-7:30 p.m. No appointment necessary. Bring a photo or signature ID and eat within 4 hours of donating. All donors will earn a chance to win a pair of Super Bowl tickets.

Lawrence High's Operation Smile Club is again sponsoring a Thanksgiving fundraiser for the organization that uses the funds to underwrite free surgery for children and young adults with facial deformities in developing nations and here in the United States. Harlem Wizards vs. Lawrence Learners--have your ticket yet?
Is it true the LTPS Superintendent Crystal Edwards will be a cheerleader at the Harlem Wizards vs Lawrence Learners game? Come to the game and find out! The rousing game of hoops will be on December 8 when a team of district staff face the Harlem Wizards in the Lawrence High gym. The event is sponsored by the Lawrence Township Education Foundation.
