Lawrence High Makes the Grade...placed on College Board's AP district honor roll

LTPS learned last week that we're one of 477 school districts in the U.S. and Canada being honored by the College Board with placement on the 4th Annual AP® District Honor Roll. We earned this honor by increasing access to Advanced Placement (AP) course work while simultaneously maintaining or increasing the percentage of students earning scores of 3 or higher on AP Exams.  Get the whole story here.

LES Salutes Soldiers

Lawrenceville Elementary School (LES) teamed with Applebee's to salute soldiers and thank them on Veterans Day for protecting our freedom. Children created cards, and decorated and signed a banner with words of thanks for the soldiers' service. Applebee's offered all veterans a free lunch from a selected menu and a "thank you" note from the children of LES on Veterans Day. Banner will be displayed at the restaurant.

Pictured: Students from Beth Strauss' third grade LES class who created cards and helped with the banner for Veterans Day. Adults from left to right are Theresa Mudry, kitchen manager from Applebee's; Beth Strauss; and Denise Barash, teaching assistant.

Miles of Smiles from Lawrenceville to Kenya

"Give a smile, and you'll get a smile," was the message presented by Operation Smile's volunteer Christine Stockton, as she spoke to the children of Lawrenceville Elementary School (LES) at their AWESOME assembly recently. Stockton proved that a smile can change a life, as she witnessed in her October trip to Mombasa, Kenya, her twenty-third mission trip on behalf of Operation Smile. Read more about her trip here
