I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.

Slackwood Creates Art from Repurposed Materials
Creative wheels were whirring at Slackwood School (SL) on October 22 as students and their parents were on hand to design Slackwood's own Wheel Project. SL art specialist Jill Lee-You and her colleagues from throughout the district (Jeanne Muzi, Beverly Turner, Toj Colavita, Hillie Spruill) led participants as they fabricated the giant display of creative art work made entirely from recycled products and materials. Projects using the same concepts have been featured at the Lawrence Municipal Building and the Grounds for Sculpture. One of the rules involved in making the art pieces was "There are no rules!" No two pieces are alike.

EP Students Celebrate Dean's Return to LTPS
Eldridge Park (EP) students surprised U.S. Navy Commander Michael Dean...otherwise known as the LTPS Technology Coordinator...back to the district after his deployment to Afghanistan. The school presented him with two enlarged photos which Michael's wife Susan had supplied. All EP students had placed a fingerprint around the border of one and EP staff had written notes around the border of another.
Several LTPS schools, students, and staff kept in touch with and supported Michael during his absence. We're delighted he's back safely and thank him for his service.
