R E S P E C T - find out what it means to LES!

Annually the NJ Department of Education designates a week towards the beginning of October as a "Week of Respect." Our schools observe this week in various ways.

The Week of Respect's culminating activity at Lawrenceville Elementary School (LES) was a parade of respectful super heroes with kindergarteners wearing t-shirt necklaces, first graders sporting belts, second graders zooming with capes, and third graders carrying shields all decorated with respectful words, pictures and slogans.

BF Kids Run for Health, Funds & Fun

On October 12 more than 110 children participated in Ben Franklin Elementary School's (BF) 1st Annual Healthy Kids Fun Run, raising over $3000 to benefit the school and the Mercer Street Friends Food Bank. With support from community sponsors such as Gold's Gym, Lawrence Montessori, Crayons Nursery School, Penlar Pharmacy, Aztec Graphics, Crown Trophy, and Terhune Orchards, as well as students who raised money for the event, the BF PTO donated $1,000 of the proceeds and over 100 pounds of non-perishable food items to the Food Bank.

Pictured in above photo with BF Principal Chris Turnbull and Carlee Cimorelli, physical education teacher, are the top three student fundraisers, L to R: Evan Dixon, Patrick Maloney, Michael Przelski.
