LHS Career Academies to Attend Symposium

The Career Academies at Lawrence High School (LHS) - Arts & Humanities, Business & International Studies, and Science & Technology - will kick off the 2013-2014 school year with an opportunity to attend the Workforce Investment Board's Youth Symposium on October 8. This event, held at the Mercer County Community College Conference Center, will allow academy students to learn about the NJ Talent Networks as defined by the New Jersey Department of Labor & Workforce Development. Professionals will educate students on skills/educational requirements, hiring trends, wages, and other valuable information in the following areas:

  • Advanced Manufacturing
  • Financial Services
  • Health Care
  • Hospitality & Tourism
  • Life Sciences
  • Technology & Entrepreneurship
  • Transportation, Logistics & Distribution

Athletic Resources College Planning Workshop

Does your high school athlete hope to participate in sports in college?  If so, this free workshop is for you!

 

Lawrence High School (LHS) is hosting this workshop for Mercer County athletes and their parents on October 16 at 7PM in the LHS Commons.  Check here for information about the speakers and registration.

Homecoming--October 12
Calling all alumni!  Lawrence High's Homecoming is Saturday,
October 12.  Football game is at 2PM against Princeton.  Come reconnect with classmates and cheer for the Cardinals!
Join the Action...Attend a District Athletic Event
Multiple sports and games take place each season as our Lawrence Middle and High School athletes compete.  Attend an event and see them in action. Check athletics schedules.

LTPS-TV This Weekend

This Saturday & Sunday, September 28-29, LTPS-TV will broadcast three new programs on Comcast Channel 19 (digital 118-1) and Verizon Channel 37 in Lawrence Township:

 

LHS Girls Varsity Soccer recorded 9/17/13 (approximately 1 hour 23 minutes)

6:30AM, 11AM & 6PM

The Girls Varsity Soccer team takes on Allentown at home.

 

LHS Girls Varsity Tennis recorded 9/18/13 (approximately 1 hour 22 minutes)

8AM, 12:30PM & 8:30PM

The Girls Varsity Tennis team takes on Robbinsville at home in a doubles match.

 

LHS Girls Varsity Field Hockey recorded 9/20/13 (approximately 1 hour 5 minutes)

9:30AM, 4:30PM & 11PM

The Girls Varsity Field Hockey team takes on Hightstown at home.

 Community Programs

Princeton Festival of Music and Art

In celebration of the 150th Anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation, join the Princeton Symphony Orchestra and the Princeton University Art Museum as they present the 3rd Annual Festival of Music and Art for families on October 5. See flyer.

Princeton University Free Youth Sports Clinic

Come out and meet Princeton University student athletes at Community and Staff Day on October 12. Join in the fun at the interactive sports fair, where children can learn from Princeton student athletes and try a variety of sports. Participants in the youth sports clinic receive free admission to the Princeton football game following the clinic. Parents/guardians may purchase $5 football game tickets at the clinic entrance. Open to all youth ages 5-13. Additional activities are planned throughout the day. See flyer.

Boys & Girls Club Survey

The Boys & Girls Club of Mercer County invites you to share your thoughts about a new youth community center they are planning to open at 1040 Spruce Street in Lawrence Township near the Trenton Farmers Market. Please take the brief, six question survey.

 

The Boys & Girls Club, a leading non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, has been providing educational and mentoring programs in Mercer County for the past 75 years. They are seeking to expand their programs and services to Lawrence Township residents by opening a new youth community center that will serve children ages pre-K through high school.
