LTPS News to Know

BF PTO Community Fall Festival

Join the Ben Franklin (BF) PTO for its 4th annual Community Fall Fest and new Kids Fun Run on Saturday, October 12 from 8AM - 2PM (indoors if raining) at Ben Franklin Elementary School. There will be professional vendors/crafters, fun activities (pumpkin painting, bounce house, carnival games, face painting), flea market area, refreshments, music/LIVE Kids Concert, raffles and more.

 

A few vendor spaces are left---register today! Registration is on a first come, first served basis.

 

The Fun Run will occur during the Fest at 10AM and any child may participate. To make sure you receive your free runner's t-shirt and goodie bag you must register by October 1. Businesses may also sponsor the run and have their name printed on every runner's shirt and/or contribute to each runner's goodie bag. Forms are linked here:

LHS Athletic Hall of Fame

The Lawrence High School (LHS) Athletic Hall of Fame is accepting ticket requests and/or program book ads for its upcoming induction ceremony at Mercer Oaks on Saturday, October 12, at 5:30 p.m. The 2013 class of inductees includes coaches Kathy Biglin and Thomas Harrington, special contributor Marilyn Roman, athletes Mike Angelotti, Jesse Goldstein, Donna Frascella, Kira Kuzman, Devin Picott, Mark Savino, Ryan Stein, and Johnny Vaughn, along with the 1998-1999 Boys' Basketball Team. Please purchase your tickets ($50) in the athletic office, or by sending a check to "LHS Hall of Fame," PO Box 55095, Trenton, NJ 08638. To place an ad in the program book, please contact Gregg Zenerovitz as soon as possible.

LTPS-TV This Weekend

This Saturday & Sunday, September 21-22, LTPS-TV will broadcast three new programs on Comcast Channel 19 (digital 118-1) and Verizon Channel 37 in Lawrence Township:

 

LHS Girls Varsity Tennis recorded 9/10/13 (approximately 45 minutes)

9:30AM, 2PM & 6:30PM

The Girls Varsity Field Tennis team takes on Allentown at home in a singles match.

 

LHS Girls Varsity Field Hockey recorded 9/11/13 (approximately 1 hour 9 minutes)

10:30AM, 3PM & 8:30PM

The Girls Varsity Field Hockey team takes on Steinert at home.

 

LHS Varsity Football recorded 9/12/13 (approximately 1 hour 57 minutes)

7:30AM, 12PM, 4:30PM & 11PM

The Varsity Football team takes on Pemberton at home with special guest announcers Mr. Gresko and Mr. Z.

 

Programming from the Lawrence Township Municipal Building has been added to LTPS programming on Comcast Channels 19 and 118-1. Verizon Channel 37 has not been affected. Municipal programming will be available on Comcast Channels 19 and 118-1 at the following times:

 

Monday-Friday: 10AM - 11AM

Daily: 2PM - 4PM

Tuesday - Thursday: 8:30PM - 10PM Temporarily suspended.

 

Verizon customers can view Municipal programming all day long on Verizon Channel 36. WZBN will continue to appear on Comcast Channels 19 & 118-1 daily from 7:30PM to 8:30PM and 10PM to 11PM.

 Community Programs

Free Field Hockey Clinic

Join the Lawrence High School (LHS) Field Hockey team in conjunction with the Township Recreation Department on October 1 for a free field hockey clinic where young players in grades 2-6 can have fun learning the fundamental skills of the game. See flyer to register.

"Name Our Bat" Contest

The Lawrence Historical Society is holding a "Name Our Bat" contest for students to name the new mascot of Brearley House! Entry forms are available in school offices. Please submit entries by September 30. Voting for the winning name will take place on Community Day, October 6. See flyer.

Rider University Reading and Writing Program

The Rider University Center for Reading and Writing is now accepting registrations for its Fall Instructional Program, which begins on October 8. Children ages 6 through 16 attend the program once a week after school from 4 - 6PM, either Tuesdays, Wednesdays, OR Thursdays for a total of ten sessions. Visit www.rider.edu/crw to register.

Cub Scout Pack 28 Wants You!

Cub Scout Pack 28 in Lawrenceville is holding a New Cub Scout Kick-Off meeting on Friday, September 20 for boys in grades 1-5 and their parents to learn more about scouting. Cub Scouting is a year-round program for boys designed to promote character, citizenship, family ties, pride, and teamwork and more in a caring fun environment.
