LIS is NJ's #1 in Jumping through Hoops for Hearts

Lawrence Intermediate School (LIS) is the top fundraising school in New Jersey for the American Heart Association's Jump Rope and Hoops for Hearts events! Over 135 students participated in the events last March, raising a combined total of $14,700 in donations for research and education. This is the 4th time LIS has received this distinction.The events were coordinated by LIS Health and Physical Education specialists David Boggs and Jonathan Chichilitti (Jump Rope), and Jack Casey and Tori Hart (Hoops).

LTPS-TV This Weekend

This Saturday & Sunday, September 14 & 15, LTPS-TV will broadcast one new program on Comcast Channel 19 (digital 118-1) and Verizon Channel 37 in Lawrence Township:

 

LHS Girls Varsity Field Hockey recorded 9/6/13 (approximately 38 minutes)

8AM, 10AM, 12PM, 2PM, 4PM, 6PM, 8:30PM, & 11PM

LTPS-TV kicks off the 2013-2014 Cardinal Sports season with a presentation of the Girls Varsity Field Hockey team as they take on W.W.P.N. at home.

 

Programming from the Lawrence Township Municipal Building has been added to LTPS programming on Comcast Channels 19 and 118-1. Verizon Channel 37 has not been affected. Municipal programming will be available on Comcast Channels 19 and 118-1 at the following times:

 

Monday-Friday: 10AM - 11AM

Daily: 2PM - 4PM

Tuesday - Thursday: 8:30PM - 10PM

 

Verizon customers can view Municipal programming all day long on Verizon Channel 36. WZBN will continue to appear on Comcast Channels 19 & 118-1 daily from 7:30PM to 8:30PM and 10PM to 11PM.

Boys and Girls Club Survey

The Boys & Girls Club of Mercer County invites you to share your thoughts about a new youth community center that we are planning to open at 1040 Spruce Street in Lawrence Township near the Trenton Farmers Market. Please take the brief, six question survey.

 

The Boys & Girls Club, a leading non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, has been providing educational and mentoring programs in Mercer County for the past 75 years.  We are seeking to expand our award winning programs and services to Lawrence Township residents by opening a new youth community center that will serve children ages pre-K through high school. 

Cub Scout Pack 28 Wants You!

Cub Scout Pack 28 in Lawrenceville is holding a New Cub Scout Kick-Off meeting on Friday, September 20 for boys in grades 1-5 and their parents to learn more about scouting. Cub Scouting is a year-round program for boys designed to promote character, citizenship, family ties, pride, and teamwork and more in a caring fun environment. Hindi Classes

The Lawrence Nature Center (LNC) is having a Picnic and Fairy/Gnome House Festival on Sunday, September 15 (rain date September 22). See flyer for details.

Trash Artstravaganza Contest

Princeton University will sponsor its 3rd Annual Trash Artstravaganza on Community and Staff Day, October 12, at the Jadwin Gymnasium. See flyer or visit their website for contest guidelines.

Unified Youth Athletes Programs

Special Olympics New Jersey (SONJ) will offer three free Fall programs for children with or without disabilities. The Unified Young Athletes program for children ages 2-7 helps develop social and motor skills for future sports participation. Unified Youth Soccer Skills is designed for children ages 6-10 who want to learn and practice soccer skills. Unified Recreation Nights for students in grades 4-12 will meet on Monday evenings from September 16 - October 21 to train and play Unified Soccer and Unified Volleyball. The programs culminate in the SONJ Fall Sports Festival on November 3. See flyers to register. Unified Partners (regular education students) are especially needed for Unified Recreation Nights.
