Math Curriculum Information Session for Grades 6-8
Join district supervisors and building administrators on Tuesday, August 20 at 1PM or 6PM (agenda is the same for both sessions) in the Lawrence Middle School library to receive information about:
- Common Core State Standards
- Math Course Sequencing (Grades 5 - High School)
- Placement Criteria
- Timelines
- End of Year Assessments
- PARCC

Laptop Pickup for Rising 6th-10th Graders
Parents of students entering grades 6-10 can now select a date and time to pick up their child's laptop.
Distribution dates are Monday, August 12 through Thursday, August 29, excluding Fridays, and both afternoon and evening hours are available on most days. A maximum of 6 students can be accommodated per time slot and the slots are available on a first come, first served basis. For those of you who have multiple students who are eligible for a laptop, you will be able to register them simultaneously.
For all pickup dates, a parent/guardian AND the student must attend. Upon picking up the laptop, both the student and their parent will be required to sign verification that they have read the district policies and procedures regarding the laptop program. The whole process should take no more than 15-30 minutes.
Signups are available at www.ltps.org/laptop. Important information about basic care of the computer, insurance, district policies & procedures, and parent/student responsibilities are also available on this webpage and must be reviewed before picking up the laptop. |

Seminar Description: Participants will learn practical strategies to help their children improve their ability to get organized, begin homework assignments, maintain attention and complete school-related tasks. Dr. Selbst will provide recommendations to promote greater independence for children from elementary through high school grades in the areas of school work, social interactions, finances, daily living, etc. Issues involving parent-child conflict will be addressed as well. |
