Field trip to Jazz at the Station! 6:30

Jazz at the Station with Joe McQueen and Friends
When: Wednesday, February 13, 2013 * 7:00 pm
Where: Grand Lobby, Union Station, 2501 Wall Avenue in Ogden

Jazz at the Station, a monthly program designed to give local jazz fans and performers an opportunity to meet and enjoy jazz, presents Joe McQueen, saxophone; and friends: Brad Wright guitar, Ryan Conger organ, & Don Keip drums. McQueen was born in 1919 and has been playing jazz since he was sixteen. He has been an important part of local jazz since 1945, when he arrived in Ogden with a band that dissolved when its leader gambled away the troupe's earnings en route from Las Vegas. McQueen reorganized the band and stayed in Ogden. He has played with jazz luminaries such as Charlie Parker, Chet Baker, Lester Young, Count Basie, Duke Ellington and Dizzy Gillespie, to name a few.

Plus:  free, professional counseling

OUTreach has a new mission statement!
"OUTreach Resource Center saves lives of LGBT individuals and transforms communities"
The Board of Directors met for a retreat in early February to discuss the past year (look for our year-end report next week!) and to plan for all the exciting things happening already in 2013.

To reflect the reality of our primary goal, saving lives, and that we do that not only through direct programming but also through our work in Utah, transforming communities, neatly sums up who we are and what we do.

We are thrilled to report that there are now over 20 LGBT centers around the country (mostly in conservative areas) based directly on the OUTreach model.  We work with leaders in community organizations, faith communities, or just concerned parents, who want to make a difference where they live.  It's an honor and a privilege to be a part of what is happening!

Want to be a part of creating a world where ALL youth live and thrive, where all people are valued for who they are, not disdained for who they love?  Join us - call 801-686-4528, email today, or donate, and be a part of our life saving work that transforms communities!
Be a part of making ALL youth Safe and Sound!
OUTreach Resource Center, with significant help and support from Mormons Building Bridges, announces a new program, Safe and Sound, to provide host homes for LGBT youth who need a place to stay, as well as help for families who want to stay together.
