Sometimes You Need To Wonder
The 2012 Kennedy Awards honored one of our greatest rock bands, Led Zeppelin
This is a long video but worth the watch. Although all the singers did a incredible job, the final act, Heart, will blow your mind.
On a personal observation, take note of the chubby, balding guy behind Kid Rock, rocking out on the acoustic guitar. It gives One Pack owner, Fred, hope that he, too, can someday be a rock God.

Sandy's Heroes
Douglas Colfer
of Barnes & Noble
By day, Doug Colfer was a part time investigator for the insurance industry, dealing with industrial accidents. By night, Doug is a Senior Maintenance
 |
Doug Colfer
|
Supervisor for Barnes & Noble, overseeing a 1.7 million square foot warehouse and twenty three employees.
Several days after Sandy hit, Doug found himself in a new role as a volunteer, shuffling food between the National Guard in Seagirt to shelters in Manasquan and Bayhead.
While working at the shelters, Doug got involved with an organization called Samaritans Purse, cleaning out houses damaged by Sandy. After a short time, Doug's leadership skills were revealed to others involved and soon he was leading teams of volunteers from all over the country.

Soon Doug was being noticed by non profits such as The United Way and Habitat for Humanity. Not being one to say no, Doug's days were engulfed with so much volunteer work that he took a temporary leave from his part time investigation work.
Since his involvement, Doug has worked on nine homes around the shore area and is now handling the rebuilding of two homes for Habitat for Humanity. Unlike other organizations, Habitat requires you to adopt a project from start to finish. Doug has been busy, finding volunteers such as licensed plumbers and electricians and those who would come in and sheet rock and paint.
For Doug, dealing with homeowners and volunteers has been overwhelming, both physically and emotionally. Seeing so many who've lost so much can take its toll on a person, but the love he's received by those he's helped will keep him going until he has nothing left to offer.
For Doug, the hugs have been payment enough.
