The rescheduling has two show times. There is a matinee at 2 p.m., and an evening show at 7 p.m. Tickets will be on sale the week of show for $5 in advance and $7 at the door. See you there!

A huge thanks from Westside's Staff to the PTO and parents for such an incredible Appreciation Week.

DISTRICT CHAMPS BEGIN PLAYOFF RUN

On Saturday, Game 2 is at Katy Taylor at 1 p.m. If Game 3 is needed, it will be at 4 p.m. at Katy Taylor.
UNIFORM SIZING DAY

Starting in August, all Westside students are required to wear the Westside Uniform. Uniforms can be preordered now, with a guaranteed pick up by June 14 and July 16.

There will be another Sizing Day during both lunches this Thursday, May 5. Click here to purchase online or click here to print out an order form.
ACE MENTORSHIP SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS

On April 25, a group of students mentored by Bechtel Corp. in the Galleria headed to Washington D.C. to compete in the National ACE Mentor Program competition. ACE Houston is so proud of our team of 6, as they were one of only 9 teams selected from across in the entire USA!

The following students from Westside completed the ACE Mentorship program this year: Morgan White, Alela Blackmore, Nilofar Owlad, Michaela Reid, and Raquel Sapon.

Raquel Sapon was awarded the $2,000 Treadwell Electric Scholarship and Michaela Reid was awarded the $2,000 Pinnacle Structural Engineers, Inc. Scholarship.

The Construction Industry Round Table (CIRT), in partnership with the ACE Mentor Program of America, sponsors the annual Design Competition which is open to all ACE Mentor Affiliates.
PRIDE SPRING SHOW
The Pride Spring Show is this Friday, May 6, at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium. It's the final show of the year, so buy your tickets now. Tickets are $5 pre-sale from a Pride girl, or you can get them for $10 at the door. Come for an amazing night of dancing!
AP EXAMS UNDERWAY
Thanks to an incredibly well organized system by Ms. DeGrood, over 300 students are taking their AP Exams this week. Way to go Ms. DeGroodt and her incredible group of volunteers!
LEILA AL-HAJ - EYE ON HOUSTON:
HIGH SCHOOL DOCUMENTARY PHOTOGRAPHY
This is the final installment of our ongoing series feature on the Museum of Fine Arts Houston's Eye on Houston: High School Documentary Photography exhibit, which ended yesterday. It features several of our photography students.
This is something that millions of people drive by on their way to work, I feel that it inspires them to "be someone" before having a long day. It's their motivation. Houston is filled with a lot of pointless and meaningful graffiti so when people drive by this piece of art it's a big deal. It like a small ray of hope while you sit in traffic amongst the beeping horns, and road ragey drivers.
WESTSIDE WELLNESS: SUMMERTIME SMOOTHIE
In the warmer months, we often need a snack to cool off and feel refreshed. It can be tempting to pick up sugary slushes or cold energy drinks. These options will only give you temporary energy, followed by a crash. Save on money and calories by making yourself an energizing smoothie at home!

Ingredients:
1 frozen banana (or 1 ripe banana and 5 ice cubes)
1 cup milk (or nut milk)
2 tbsp almond or peanut butter
2 tbsp Greek yogurt (or half an avocado)
 tsp cinnamon
 tsp honey
Optional:
1 handful spinach
1 tbsp almond slivers/granola

Put all wet ingredients in the blender first (banana, milk, yogurt). Add in nut butter, honey, cinnamon, and a handful of spinach if you'd like an extra punch of vitamins. Blend together, top with almonds or granola, and enjoy!
