BAND TREKS TO DISNEY
Over one hundred band members traveled to Florida on April 23. While at Disney, a professional jazz-trumpeter conducted the music while choreographing the music to the Disney movie clip.
The students performed music from Frozen, Jungle Book, Snow White, and Marry Poppins. Students learned how professional musicians record in a live studio.
Westside High School was represented well throughout the trip. The directors and students would like to thank the Westside administrators, Band Boosters, and chaperones. Without you - this memorable trip would not have been possible. Thank you!

CHEERING INTO COLLEGE
With hard work and dedication, dreams do come true! Ever since she was young Westside senior Caroline Sullivan has had one dream: to be a cheerleader at the University of Texas.
"Ever since I was little I've wanted to go to UT," Caroline said. "I've loved gymnastics and cheerleading since I can remember, so why not combine the two things I love most?"
Next year, both of these things will be a reality! Westside is so proud that one of our fantastic WHS Wolf cheer captains will be proudly cheering for the Texas Longhorns!
"I'm going to get to cheer at home football games, all volleyball games, all soccer games, and all women's basketball! UT cheer is all about making appearances, so I'm extremely excited for all the people I'm going to meet and all the new places and things I'm going to get to experience!" she enthusiastically remarked.
We are so proud of Caroline! Hook 'em!

INERTIA TRYOUTS (GIRLS)

TEACHERS SET TO RETIRE
Three incredibly wonderful Westside teachers were celebrated at Westside Tennis and Fitness. Karen Hunter, Donna Patch, and Caroline Stento will all be retiring at the end of the year.
Between the three of them, they have over 100 years of dedicated service to our youth. We have been so blessed to have had them here at Westside working with our wolves in English, History, and Fine Arts. If you happen to see them before they go, please pass on big hugs and huge thank you's!

TRIMMING THE FAT

Five members of the Westside Staff competed in this spring's Healthywage competition.
The team finished tied for 1st in the Nation out of over 400 teams with the max of 16.59% body fat lost while losing a combined 221 lbs.
The "Thirties Mutant Ninja Tubbies" consist of Jarrod Baxter, Mike Froehlic, Jomaul Mason, Naomi McNeely, and Craig Malinsky.
SOFTBALL ENDS SEASON
The Westside Softball 2015 Season has come to an end after a playoff loss to Seven Lakes on Friday night. The loss was tough however the young sophomore loaded team will be returning all of its players in 2016.
With only two juniors, eight sophomores, and two freshmen... the Wolves gained a lot of experience that will drive them forward as they continue to contend for their first district title.
The season was full of roller coaster moments as the team began filling positions of the six seniors lost in the previous season. However, the season came to its peak in the regular season finale against Lamar where the Wolves won in dramatic comeback fashion with a 7-run seventh inning to include a monster grand slam to beat Lamar 7-6. This will be a team to watch out for next season with senior captains, Mary Alex Krosby & Abby Aldis, leading the pack.
PRIDE SPRING SHOW
Pride held its annual Spring Show in the auditorium. Over 400 people were in attendance and it was a beautiful, emotional and fantastic farewell to the 2014-2015 Pride Dance Team. We wish nothing but the best for our class of 2015 Pride Seniors! "Don't cry because it is over, smile because it happened," Coach Demartino said.
