CHOICES CORNER: SOCIAL MEDIA

Did you know that 8-18 year olds devote an average of 7.5 hours to using entertainment media during a typical day (source)?  Furthermore, 9 out of 10 teenagers use or have used social media (source).  As we know, these numbers are extremely high and that is why the Choices topic for February focuses on social media and technology.  In the upcoming Choices Corner articles for February, I will discuss the importance of establishing family cell phone rules, the benefits of social media, and what your teens are being exposed to online.

If you have any questions, please contact me: mparsley@council-houston.org.

And don't forget about our upcoming "Friends of Choices" luncheon on February 18, at the River Oaks Country Club!  Click here to register and for more information.
