SOUPER BOWL OF CARING FOOD DRIVE

The Junior Officers of Student Council are participating in the Souper Bowl of Caring, a food drive benefiting local food banks.

Collection will take place through Friday, January 30.

Please encourage your students, club, or team to participate! If every student and Westside employee donated just one can, we would be able to donate over 3,000 items to help our local community! Donation boxes will be placed in all house offices, the main office, and various magnet rooms throughout the school.

Please help us spread the word, and let us know if you have any questions. Thank you for your support!

WESTSIDE HIGH SCHOOL COMMUNITY SHOWCASE
This Thursday is the big day as Westside puts on its Community Showcase. Students and their families from our feeder schools and across Houston are invited to come and tour our campus to see all of the wonderful programs we offer.

Westside's doors will be open at 5:30 p.m. for tours and informational sessions about our many outstanding programs. Following the tours and informational sessions there will be an exciting program featuring a collaborative performance from our award winning arts programs.

After that, join us in The Commons for a chance to meet and greet our students and faculty as you learn about all of the clubs, athletic, academic, performing and visual arts programs your child can be involved in during their journey with us at Westside!

We look forward to seeing you and your child. If you have any questions, feel free to give us a call!
NO DAYS OFF FOR INERTIA

On Saturday, members from Inertia performed for the PIES Movement Festival, in the Kingwood Town Center.

The PIES JumpStart was a family festival, introducing the PIES Movement to the Kingwood community. Booths featuring local business and Mental Health initiatives were present while families enjoyed live music, dance, family-friendly aerobics, and bouncy castles! Lots of activities for the kids made this a wonderful Saturday outing for the whole family.

Through social dialogue, community outreach and education programs, the PIES Movement will improve the Physical, Intellectual, Emotional and Spiritual health of children facing mental health issues in the Houston area. PIES aims to change the conversation of mental health through shared experiences and advocacy.

Inertia was proud to be asked to participate.

QUESTIONS?

  • WHAT HAPPENS IF I WAS ABSENT ON FRIDAY?
If you are absent on Friday, but have paid your insurance fee and turned in the appropriate paperwork, you will need to go to S100 during lunch to pick up your laptop. Please remember to bring your ID.
  • WHAT HAPPENS IF I PAID, BUT DID NOT RECEIVE ONE LAST FRIDAY?
If you haven't received your laptop by Friday, but have paid your fee and turned in your paperwork, then show up to S100 on Friday during your lunch to pick it up.
  • WHAT HAPPENS IF I STILL HAVE NOT TURNED IN THE PAPERWORK NOR PAID THE INSURANCE FEE BY THIS FRIDAY?

Parents don't have to be here to turn in the paperwork, which is a form that can be printed off of the Westside website or here. Students can turn in their paperwork and $25 cash or money order and turn it in to room A220. Then, the student will proceed directly to A204 to pick up their laptop.

POWER UP! DISTRIBUTION PICS

Last Friday was filled with excitement and smiles as laptops were distributed to students. The entire campus has embraced this opportunity and is ready to begin a new journey!

CHOICES CORNER: CHOICES LUNCHEON

The Choices team is very excited to announce our first annual "Friends of Choices" luncheon at the River Oaks Country Club on February 18

We have Choices Counselors at five schools so this luncheon will be a great opportunity for the Choices community to be together under one roof. One exciting portion of the luncheon will be the student presentations from each of our five schools focused on the importance of making positive choices and avoiding high risk behaviors.

Please click here for more information and to buy a seat or a table at the luncheon. I hope to see you at our luncheon and thank you in advance for your support! If you have any questions, please feel free to email me:[email protected] .

We value your feedback!
