Lunch & Learn About Common Core April 19th, 12:00-1:00 PM Media Center at Hughes Academy
Hughes Academy SIC will host a one hour Lunch and Learn to help parents better understand Common Core and what this means for their children. Next fall, Hughes Academy will begin teaching and testing under the Common Core Standards. These are nationalized standards as opposed to current state standards. The method of teaching and learning will be a new approach for our students, and we feel that one of the best ways to support them in this transition will be for parents and caregivers to understand this new learning process. Tonya Woods, Hughes Academy's Instructional Coach, will provide a video and short exercises that will help explain Common Core in the classroom. Everyone is invited, and we hope you will not miss this informative discussion.
