Senator Ross Turner Visit |
The Hughes Academy SIC, co-sponsored by Blythe and Augusta Circle, will be hosting State Senator Ross Turner at Hughes on Friday, January 25 at 9 AM for a discussion of public education. Please make plans to attend! This is a great opportunity to showcase our school and highlight just how important it is to keep public education in the forefront.

Chick-fil-A biscuits will be on sale in the carpool line Friday, January 25. Biscuits are $3 for one and $5 for two. |
Volunteers Needed |
 2-3 volunteers are needed February 11th from 8:30 - 9:30 a.m. to help set up the science boards and sign-in students who are participating in the science fair. Please contact Mrs. Hyde ahyde@greenville.k12.sc.us if you can help.

Spring Sports Information |
Don't forget to sign up for spring sports! Go to the Hughes Academy Website for important forms including required Physical Form and Risk Form. These forms are also are also available in the front office.
The tryout/and or conditioning dates for Spring sports start on January 28th for those who are not playing basketball for the school.
Requirements:
7th or 8th Grader with signed physical form turned in
No current grades lower than a 75
No Out of School (OSS) Suspension Referrals all year long
No more than 2 In School Suspensions (ISS) Referrals during the school year Pay a $10 Insurance Fee (Non-Refundable) Additional $17 will be needed if you make the team

Winter Wonderland Dance |
Save The Date
Winter Wonderland Dance Friday, February 8 from 7-9 PM.
The dance is open to 6th, 7th and 8th graders.
Dressy attire.
Tickets will be sold the week of the dance.
Light refreshments will be served.
There will be an opportunity for the
kids to have their pictures taken (small charge).
More information to come next week.
