November 6th is Election Day!
Don't forget to Vote - Your Voice is Important
In addition to this year being a presidential election year, there are also some important local elections that will impact Greenville County Public Schools. Six of the twelve School Board Members will be elected. School board elections are held every two years. In 2012 the odd-numbered board seats are up for election (Areas 17, 19, 21, 23, 25, and 27) . School board races are non-partisan: Candidates are not affiliated with a political party. There is not a run-off election in cases where there are more than two candidates. Simply the person with the most votes on November 6th will win. Term of Office. School board members serve a four-year term. There is not a limit on the number of consecutive terms one can serve.

There also will be a Forum on Tuesday October 23rd , where the candidates from Area 17 will respond to questions. The Forum will be moderated by Beth Padgett, Editorial Page Editor of The Greenville News. The Forum will be at Blue Ridge High School at 7 pm. Area 17 Candidates are Paul Fallavollita, - Joy Grayson, and Sunny Weigand.
Public Education Partners (PEPGC), is a non profit local organization that collaborates with the community, educators and elected officials to support and strengthen public education and student achievement in Greenville County Schools.
