Wednesday, October 24, 2012

12:30 PM - 1:30 PM in the Media Center

Bring your lunch and join us for a very informative Red Ribbon meeting.  Guest speakers from Greenville Family Partnership will update us on what alcohol, drugs and other harmful substances are within our Greenville community as well as helping us to see the warning signs.  We'll have plenty of time for a question and answer period at the end.

Volunteers are needed during lunch from 10:30 until 2:00 on Tuesday, Oct. 23 and Friday, Oct. 26.  Please contact Dana Habig at danahabig@gmail.com if you can help with Red Ribbon Week activities during lunch.

Service Opportunity and Other NewsBlythe Academy Study Buddies Logo

Blythe Academy offers a Study Buddy program to students who may need a little tutoring or mentoring. You will meet every Friday at 7:20 - 7:50 a.m. at Blythe and work with a child. A couple of our Hughes moms have offered to provide transportation from Blythe to Hughes to those Study Buddies. If your child is interested in earning 30 minutes a week service hours or would just like to work with a younger student, please let me know by Wednesday, October 17. More information will be given to those students regarding an upcoming orientation meeting.

We were not able to fill the second bus for the convention. However, should anyone be unable to attend, I will go down the waiting list in order to see if anyone wants to go. There are 10 students on the waiting list.
GHS Rugby

If you are in 7th or 8th grade and interested in playing for the Greenville High Rugby team, please pick up a player's packet
at the front office. Conditioning will be held on Sundays from 2:30 - 4:30 at the Greenville High practice field. In order to play
all documents need to be completed and each child will need to be CIPP certified. It is all explained in the player's
packet. If you would like to be added to the Rugby Newsletter, please email Bridget Foley at bfoley@greenville.k12.sc.us.
