Saturday, March 5, 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. at Hailey Elementary
Monday, March 14, 12:00 p.m.-1:00 p.m. at Bellevue Elementary
Blaine County School District offers preschool for children age 4 at Carey, Bellevue, Hailey and Hemingway Elementary schools. The classes are taught by certified teachers with endorsements in Early Childhood education. Two half day sessions are offered five days a week. Tuition is on a sliding scale and over 80% of children attend free of charge. Read more.

Students Across District Learn About Animal Habitat
First grade students across the district learned about animal habitat and demonstrated their knowledge at various events recently. Alturas students shared their zoological expertise with a community of eager parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and family friends. Alturas Principal Brad Henson wrote, "First grade students worked in pairs to pack the house, and present with pride their animal research projects to an inspired community at Alturas Elementary school. Presentations were done bilingually, including animal facts, habit information, animal adaptations, maps, diagrams, and clay models."

Students Give Feedback on School Experience
During the next few weeks students in grades 5, 7 and 11 will take a short survey and answer questions about their experiences in school. The survey is designed to measure whether or not every student in engaged as part of the district's mission to inspire, engage, educate and empower every student. The results for this year will form a baseline for future years and will be tracked as part of the Strategic Plan .
