Thank You for Attending Public Budget Meetings

Thank you to each of you who took the time to attend last week's public budget meetings.  Hundreds of people attended the twelve public meetings.  Attendance at Carey School was over 100 and attendance at Alturas Elementary was over 90. Attendance at other meetings ranged from 12-50.  Overall it was a great turnout!

What are the next steps?
  • Dozens of public comments were video recorded for the Board of Trustees.
  • Feedback from the questions regarding community values will be shared with the Board of Trustees and posted on the website.
  • Look for a survey in your email and on the website sometime in November.

You can email your Board of Trustees anytime here.

Student Newspaper Gives Students a Voice

Students at Wood River High School have revitalized the student newspaper for the digital age.  The paper is now in its 2nd edition of the year.  Check it out here.
Nominate a Student Today for Doing the Right Thing

Three times a year, DO THE RIGHT THING honors youth in Blaine County who distinguish themselves by their positive behavior. Anyone can nominate a youth or group of youths for good deeds. Students do not need to be a resident of Hailey. Students can live anywhere in Blaine County.

How does it work? You can nominate a student any time online.

What happens then? Every student nominated receives a Do The Right Thing certificate of recognition and a letter from the Hailey Police & Fire Chief.

FIVE TOP NOMINEES each quarter receive special recognition, one of whom will be selected as a Standout nominee. The Standout winner last year was Carlos Gonzalez, who won a $250 gift certificate to Sturto's, among other prizes.

Submit nominations online by November 3.
