Parent Tech Classes End with Smiles
The BCSD Technology Department offered a series of free classes for parents this school year. Classes ranged from internet safety to password management. Classes are offered in both English and Spanish. A basic computing class in Spanish concluded last week. Parents who attended all ten classes were given a computer to take home at the end of the last class. The computers are recycled from classrooms. All software is removed and a free Linux-based operating system called Ubuntu is installed, which allows users to access the internet and do basic computing. The classes are taught by BCSD Technology Integration Specialists Dave Guymon and Paul Zimmerman. Look for more classes next year.
