Homework Policy Under Consideration: Public Comment Welcome
Thursday, May 21, 4:00-5:30 p.m.
Thursday, May 28, 4:00-5:30 p.m.
Community Campus, Minnie Moore Room
1. What is meaningful homework that supports students in mastering Idaho Core Standards for their appropriate grade level?
2. What is the appropriate balance of homework for student development as 21st Century learners at the various grade levels?
The Policy Committee would like your feedback on the Homework Policy. Working with the student Board representatives from Carey High School, Silver Creek High School and Wood River High School, the district surveyed teachers and students to find out about current homework practices. 197 teachers responded to the survey. 459 middle school students and 590 high school students responded to the survey. This information was presented to the Board last December. Now, the Policy Committee would like input from students, parents and teachers before drafting a recommended policy revision for the Board's consideration. Public comment is welcome. Read the agenda here.
