May is Mental Health Month
May is Mental Health Month. What is Mental Health? Mental Health includes our emotional, psychological and social well being. Positive mental health has to do with how you see yourself and the world around you.
Blaine County School district has trained mental health professionals in every school - School Social Workers and School Psychologists. If there are concerns about a student's mental health, please contact the Social Worker at your student's school.
The Blaine County Commissioners made a proclamation that May is Mental Health Month in Blaine County. Two members of the Board of Trustees, Kathy Baker and Kathryn Graves, attended the proclamation as well as students and a social worker from the Blaine County School District. Look for information about events scheduled around the community to recognize mental health throughout the month of May.

Hemingway Students Celebrate Art and Literature
The Hemingway Art and Literature Fair was on April 30. According to Hemingway para-educator Becky Benson, "All the students worked very hard to create a variety of books from our Publishing House, and artwork in Tom VanSlyke's art class. The fair was very well attended, the school was bright and colorful with a very creative art display. The children practiced 21st Century Skills with preparing for life-long learning with Knowledge of the Arts, the fair also fostered leadership opportunities with the children sharing their work with parents and friends, and the student's practice of choice and voice. The fair also provided an opportunity for the students to be innovative and civically engaged."
