New State Testing Begins in BCSD

The test of the new  Idaho Core Standards is now being administered in the Blaine County School District.  The new Idaho Core Standards required a new test - ISAT 2.0.  Students in grades 3  through 10 will takes the ISAT 2.0 in English Language Arts and Mathematics.

Unlike the old, timed test, ISAT 2.0 gives students the chance to read closely and think carefully about questions requiring multiple choice and short answer questions.  Students will also be asked to write an essay and solve a real-world math task using problem solving skills.

The BCSD ISAT 2.0 testing schedule has been coordinated across schools; the testing window is March 30 through May 22.  In general students will test in one-hour sessions, enabling students to maintain fairly regular classroom experiences.

Educators will be able to use the results from individual student scores and aggregate scores to guide instruction.  If you have questions please contact Dr. Marcia Grabow, Assessment and Data Coordinator for the Blaine County School District.
