Fun Fact: One Facebook Founder is a WRHS Graduate
You might have read this article about Andrew McCollum, but have you seen this photo from the WRHS football team? Andrew MCollum graduated from WRHS in 2002. He is pictured here with John Blackman, who was the art teacher and football coach at Wood River High School at the time.
McCollum was also a student of Hemingway Elementary Principal Don Haisley, who said, "Andy was a student of mine when he was in 6th grade. He is the one who taught me that just because an answer is not the "right" answer I was looking for, it does not mean that the answer is wrong. He would frequently come up with a different response than what I expected and when pressed to show me how he got the answer, he generally proved that he was right."
Thanks to all the teachers in Blaine County School District who encourage our future Andrew McCollum's!
