January Community Meetings
What is the role of schools in a democratic society? How do children learn? What is the role of educators, students, parents and the community? Brainstorm answers to these questions and make your voice heard for the future of children in the Blaine County School District. We need everyone in Blaine County to come to one of the community meetings.

Parents Realize the American Dream
A family engagement program called Realizing the American Dream concluded with a graduation ceremony for 14 parents who attended the 10-week program. Conducted entirely in Spanish, the program taught parents how to help their children with schoolwork at home, motivate their children, build their child's reading skills, work as partners with teachers, the principal and other staff, make a plan to help their child succeed academically and graduate from high school ready to go to college. Superintendent Dr. GwenCarol Holmes spoke at the graduation ceremony.

South Central Public Health District Recommends People Do the Following for the Flu:

Get a flu vaccination.

Wash hands often and particularly after sneezing and coughing.

Avoid touching their eyes, nose and mouth.

Cover their coughs and sneezes or cough into their sleeve.

Stay home when sick.
