Staff Engagement Survey Shows Staff Pride and District Opportunities for Improvement
The voices of 343 staff members were captured in a Staff Engagement Survey at the end of the last school year. The survey reports will be shared at the Board of Trustees meeting on Tuesday, October 14.

Bullying Prevention Month

October is National Bullying Prevention Month.  Bullying prevention is on-going and year around in the Blaine County School District.  This month we will highlight some of the programs throughout the district that help us create caring communities in our schools.

Learn About Green Dot

The Advocates is bringing, Dr. Dorothy Edwards, the founder of Green Dot, to the Wood River Valley.  Dr. Edwards is internationally renowned for her dynamic and motivational message of hope and compassion.  She states that Green Dot is "A single choice in one moment in time to use your voice, actions or choices to make one small corner of the world safer."

Three elementary schools are celebrating National Farm to School Month this week. Idaho's Bounty, the Wood River Farmers Markets and the Wood River Sustainability Center will host Farm Fresh Displays and Samples in several school cafeterias during lunch :

WRHS Government Students Visit with Idaho Attorney General's Office 

Renee Chariton of the Idaho Attorney General's office presented information to approximately 40 senior students in Tim Richard's Government class recently. The presentation contained information about credit and debt, buying a car, landlord/tenant concerns, Internet safety and identity theft.
 

Carey Students Visit Boise State University

Carey 5th and 6th grade students will visit Boise State University for College Day on Thursday, October 17. 

 

Career Exploration for Students with Special Needs Featured on KMVT News
 

The Idaho Department of Labor is partnering with the Blaine County School District and Idaho Division of Vocational Rehabilitation to launch a career exploration project for high school students.  Watch the video here.
